D365 Finance Integration Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a D365 Finance Integration Architect based in United States.

This role serves as a technical anchor for modernizing a core financial platform within a complex federal environment.
You will design secure integrations, data pipelines, and middleware solutions connecting Dynamics 365 Finance with external systems.
A key focus will be migrating critical historical financial data from highly customized legacy applications into the modern environment.
You will combine deep D365 Finance & Operations expertise with strong development and integration capabilities to deliver reliable enterprise solutions.
The position requires close attention to federal security standards, authorization requirements, data quality, and operational continuity.
You will collaborate with technical teams and agency stakeholders to translate complex integration requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a significant financial systems modernization initiative with direct impact on enterprise operations.

Accountabilities
  • Design, build, test, and support system-to-system interfaces connecting Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations with external applications and services.
  • Architect secure integration patterns using REST APIs, OData, Custom Services, and JSON/XML-based web services.
  • Lead and support large-scale financial data migration activities, including extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Migrate historical financial information such as subledger, refund, reconciliation, and related records from legacy platforms into the modern D365 environment.
  • Develop automated validation and reconciliation scripts to verify data integrity and identify migration discrepancies.
  • Translate business and operational requirements related to filing fees, refunds, accounting workflows, and other financial processes into appropriate technical and application configurations.
  • Support D365 Finance configuration and integration decisions to ensure solutions meet operational requirements and long-term modernization objectives.
  • Establish and maintain technical configurations aligned with federal security standards, delivery frameworks, and authorization milestones.
  • Apply D365 Finance & Operations development expertise to customize and extend applications using X++, AOT objects, classes, forms, and batch automation.
  • Support environment lifecycle management through Microsoft Lifecycle Services and CI/CD deployments using Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with development, integration, data, security, and agency stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams and communicate integration risks, dependencies, and architectural decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives that reduce dependence on heavily customized legacy applications and establish scalable, maintainable financial technology foundations.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required; dual citizens are not eligible.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on technical architecture and development experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or senior-level Dynamics AX 2012 environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in X++, including AOT object customization, classes, forms, batch job automation, and related D365 development practices.
  • Strong development experience with C#/.NET and enterprise application integration.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting large-scale ERP data conversions using DMF/DIXF, including automated validation and reconciliation.
  • Strong understanding of service-based integration architectures, including REST APIs, OData, Custom Services, JSON, and XML web services.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Lifecycle Services (LCS), environment management, and CI/CD deployments using Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration, data migration, system architecture, and secure application development.
  • Ability to understand financial processes and translate operational requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and consulting skills, with the ability to explain complex integration challenges to development teams and technical requirements to agency stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical, functional, security, and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (MB-700) or Developer Associate (MB-500).
  • Experience implementing enterprise automation using Power Automate, including Cloud Flows, Desktop RPA, and custom connectors.
  • Familiarity with core financial modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets.
  • Experience working with federal, regulated, or compliance-driven financial environments.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance requirements applicable to federal technology implementations.
Benefits
  • Opportunity to contribute to a significant federal financial systems modernization initiative.
  • Work on enterprise-scale Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations integration and data migration projects.
  • Exposure to modern integration technologies, cloud-based development, automation, and DevOps practices.
  • Opportunity to work with complex financial systems and highly regulated technology environments.
  • Professional environment focused on technical innovation, modernization, and scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with experienced technical teams and federal stakeholders.
