This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an AWS Solutions Architect – Migration and Modernization in Canada.
This role is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity for an experienced cloud architect to lead end-to-end AWS migration and modernization initiatives for enterprise customers. You will operate at the intersection of solution design, presales engagement, and technical delivery, shaping scalable and secure cloud architectures. The position involves building and governing multi-account AWS environments while guiding organizations through complex transformation journeys. You will work closely with customer stakeholders and internal teams to define architecture strategies, deliver landing zones, and implement best practices aligned with AWS standards. This is a client-facing role that blends consulting, engineering, and strategic advisory responsibilities. It offers the opportunity to directly influence cloud adoption, modernization, and operational excellence at scale.
- Lead presales technical engagements by collaborating with sales teams to understand customer needs, define solutions, and support proposals, estimates, and statements of work.
- Design, build, and manage multi-account AWS environments using AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, Landing Zones, IAM, and Service Control Policies.
- Own end-to-end cloud migration and modernization initiatives, from discovery and assessment through execution, validation, and optimization.
- Architect secure, scalable, and compliant AWS solutions aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and industry regulations.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK to automate deployment and governance.
- Design and implement identity, security, and access management solutions using IAM, SSO, encryption, and monitoring services.
- Build containerized platforms and modern application architectures using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
- Design CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure operational excellence and reliability.
- Conduct AWS Well-Architected reviews and lead remediation efforts to improve performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Drive cloud governance, compliance, and FinOps-based cost optimization strategies for enterprise customers.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience designing and delivering AWS-based architectures in customer-facing or consulting environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, Landing Zones, IAM, and Service Control Policies.
- Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migration and modernization programs.
- Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes (ECS/EKS).
- Deep understanding of AWS security, compliance, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Experience supporting presales activities including solution design, workshops, and technical presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a delivery-focused and customer-obsessed mindset.
- AWS certification (Solutions Architect Professional/Associate or Security Specialty) is highly preferred.
