The Role at a Glance
Kanto Corporation is seeking an experienced Production Technical Technician to assist the Production Technical Department in developing, improving, and testing chemical plant processes, products, and equipment while adhering to Kanto’s Operating Priorities of Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
What You’ll Do
- Participates as a leader in developing, establishing, implementing, improving and maintaining all processes and procedures related to manufacturing our products safely and at the highest quality level.
- Participates in the development of new chemical processes and projects from the beginning (preparation of raw material) until the end, and monitors and records processes and procedures.
- Provides training and guidance to less experienced technicians and operators and provides leadership to process improvements, while working in a team environment.
- Identifies problems and troubleshoots chemical processing equipment (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic) and participates in adjustments to blend / titration systems.
- Participates and assists in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on chemical processing equipment both within and out of a clean room environment.
- Reviews numerous reports daily to obtain knowledge and understanding of issues.
- Works in coordination with Production Technical Technicians and the Production Department to minimize impacts on the production schedule and works with Production team to assist with opening and closing of various valves.
- Develops, selects, improves and manages all parts, components and materials which contact chemicals directly, such as pipes, hose lines, containers, filters, pumps and valves.
- Follows all applicable company and customer safety requirements. Attends required safety training and meetings and actively participates in identifying and resolving safety issues. Leads by example to promote and encourage company-wide safety.
Qualifications

What You Bring- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or equivalent two-year college or technical school preferred; one or more years of industry or similar work experience and electrical and/or mechanical course work or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong math skills and coursework in chemistry (beginning to advanced).
- Certified or ability to be certified as a Hazardous Materials Technician as per 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(iii).
- Must have strong PC skills, with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and Word and ability to read, interpret and create documents.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards, HAZMAT training, and process safety control are helpful.
- The ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, management, other department members, vendors, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to work in personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator and cleanroom gear as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and work in industrial environments.
