About This Position

Position Description: The Senior HR Specialist has a broad range of HR skills. This person is responsible for completing HR related duties and working closely with senior HR management to address the HR needs of client and their employees.

Position Responsibilities: Team/Administrative Responsibilities
Oversee Ticketing Queue and assign cases appropriately
Participate in the development, tracking and comparisons of metrics
Assist with recruiting and hiring within the HR Department
Participate in the scheduling and execution of training and orientation of new department team members
Create new and revise existing SOPs
Participate in overall departmental process improvements
Monitor Client Notifications and Implement related processes and follow ups

Reporting and Compliance
Complete/Assist with State and Federal Regulatory Reporting
Follows all state and federal laws, as well as company policies and procedures, consult with others as necessary
Protects the company and clients from liability and exposure
Complete/Assist with annual EEO-1 Reporting for client
Complete/Assist with Adding/Removing clients for NYSIF
Support Compliance Committee
Process OEWS as required
Process CA Pay Data reporting as required

Assignment Specific Tasks

Client Relations
Assess client inquiries and assign or handle as appropriate
Respond in a timely, professional and knowledgeable manner
Document on behalf of client and Trion as appropriate
Assist junior members of the team in resolving client inquiries

Unemployment
Monitor processes, volume and turnaround time
Address related issues as needed and share what is learned with team
Participate in hearings as needed

Leave
Administer the ADA program for client
Process requests for State Disabilities
Process Leaves of Absence
Process FMLA applications

Handbooks
Work closely with clients to develop new and revise existing labor law compliant handbooks
Keeps up to date on changes to state and federal law through continuous education and publications.

Additional job duties as assigned

Performance Measurement: Accurate (No errors and/or complaints), timely (by deadline) and consistent with required duties.
Attendance
Alignment of personal and Company goals and objectives.
Follows all state and local laws. As well as company policies and procedures.
Completion of mandatory training by established deadline.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: SR HR Specialist - Bachelors degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience.
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
3-5 years Human Resource Experience
2 years working with Employee Relations issues including harassment, discrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity complaints and investigations
Experience in PEO (Professional Employer Organization) preferred
Highly ethical with the ability to understand and review state and federal law, as well as company policies and procedures.
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
General knowledge of Internet navigation and research, email, fax transmissions, phone communication, and copy equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
