The Temporary Full-Time Safety Coordinator role is responsible for supporting and continuously improving the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system. Based in Edmonton, the position serves as a key resource for safety-related matters and works closely with the QHSE Director to promote a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.

WHAT YOU’RE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Provide health and safety support for both Canadian and U.S. operations across multiple worksites.
- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, field observations, and jobsite audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Assist employees and supervisors in recognizing hazards and implementing appropriate safety controls.
- Support investigations of incidents, near misses, and property damage, including tracking corrective actions to completion.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, training documentation, statistics, and compliance databases.
- Administer and maintain safety management systems and platforms such as SharePoint, WorkHub, ISNetworld, Avetta, and ComplyWorks.
- Coordinate employee orientations, toolbox talks, safety training programs, competency tracking, and worker monitoring systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, client standards, and contractor expectations through audits and inspections.
- Assist in developing and reviewing safe work procedures, job hazard analyses, emergency response plans, and overall safety programs.
- Provide professional safety guidance, injury management and return-to-work support, contractor onboarding assistance, and other safety-related duties while maintaining strict confidentiality and excellent service in a fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; proficiency in PowerPoint is an asset.
- Post secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety is an asset
- CRSP, CSP or CRST designation is an asset
- Experience with OSHA Regulations is considered an asset
