Job Description

Content Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Content Lead based in United States.

This is a senior, strategic content leadership role responsible for shaping how a growing scientific organization communicates across every channel. You will own brand voice, content strategy, and messaging while ensuring content is both commercially effective and scientifically credible. The role spans evergreen content, full-funnel programs, and integrated 360 campaigns across digital, events, sales enablement, PR, and social. You will partner closely with marketing, brand, product, design, and sales teams to turn complex scientific topics into clear, compelling stories. Beyond creating content, you will establish the systems, standards, and processes that enable a scalable content function. The environment combines strategic leadership with hands-on writing and editing in a highly technical and scientifically rigorous industry.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and continuously evolve the organization’s brand voice, tone, messaging frameworks, and editorial standards, ensuring they are practical and consistently applied.
  • Set the strategic direction and quality standards for content marketing across channels, partnering with writers, designers, and marketers to deliver high-quality work.
  • Build and maintain an evergreen content library that clearly communicates the organization’s capabilities, value, and expertise over the long term.
  • Develop full-funnel content strategies covering awareness, consideration, and conversion, ensuring audiences receive the right message and format at each stage.
  • Lead the content and copy direction for integrated 360 campaigns spanning digital, events, sales enablement, PR, and social channels.
  • Partner with product marketing, brand, design, and sales teams on language-related initiatives including naming, positioning, messaging hierarchies, and campaign concepts.
  • Establish scalable content systems, including style guides, creative briefs, review processes, and editorial standards.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback and help maintain a consistently high quality bar across the content function.
  • Balance strategic responsibilities such as frameworks, roadmaps, and positioning with hands-on writing and editing when needed.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience spanning content strategy, content marketing, and brand or copywriting, including significant experience in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Professional experience across both agency and in-house environments, with the ability to bring the strengths of each setting into a collaborative content function.
  • Direct experience in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a related scientific or technical industry is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific and technical subject matter into content that is accurate, credible, accessible, and engaging.
  • Strong perspective on brand voice, supported by a portfolio demonstrating range across individual copy, strategic content, and integrated campaigns.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute content strategies across the full marketing funnel rather than focusing solely on individual assets.
  • Experience leading integrated or 360 campaigns and collaborating closely with creative, design, media, marketing, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Excellent editorial judgment, with the confidence to challenge and guide stakeholders at all levels when messaging or content can be improved.
  • Ability to operate comfortably at both strategic and executional levels, from developing frameworks and positioning to writing and editing content directly.
  • Experience with regulated or scientifically rigorous industries, where accuracy and compliance are critical, is a plus.
  • Experience managing or mentoring writers, editors, or content strategists is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SEO, content performance measurement, and using data to inform content strategy and decisions is an advantage.
Benefits:
  • Base salary range of $147,000–$201,000 USD for the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Eligibility for an annual bonus.
  • Equity participation.
  • Generous benefits package.
  • Final compensation may vary based on skills, experience, expertise, and location.
  • Compensation may differ for employees working in other U.S. locations.
  • Remote work environment.
