Summary / Objective
The Production Supervisor directs the activities of a production department/shift at Habasit America's Buffalo, NY facility, ensuring manufacturing operational goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role provides leadership and development to department associates, maintains production schedules, upholds quality standards, and drives continuous improvement across safety, productivity, quality, cost, and morale.

- Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
- Observe applicable safety, health, and environmental rules and guidelines, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Provide direction, development, and leadership to department associates, ensuring effective employee relations.
- Coach and develop associates and resolve associate issues through problem resolution.
- Direct and manage department associates to ensure manufacturing operational goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, morale, orderliness, and continuous improvement to achieve positive results.
- Monitor and make adjustments to ensure overall department performance meets safety, productivity, and quality standards.
- Plan work, make assignments, and train new and existing associates.
- Control and minimize labor overtime and repair expenses.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments when necessary.
- Support and assist in implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs.
- Incorporate department organization and cleanliness among department associates.
- Support and assist Plant Management in developing and maintaining department performance metrics.
- Assist in all production control activities.
- Perform monthly cycle counts.
- Support all lab activities.
- Be available on call to respond to the facility during off-shift hours to assist in emergency situations.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position directly supervises department/shift associates in the Buffalo production facility.
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing and production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery, noise, fumes, chemicals, and other production floor conditions. Appropriate PPE is required in designated areas.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to talk and/or hear.
- Frequently required to stand and walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Schedule is determined by shift assignment and operational needs. The employee is expected to be available on call during off-shift hours to respond to emergency situations.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
- 7 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly environments.
- High competency with process improvement methodologies.
- High competency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM applications.
- Experience in training and associate development.
