This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an International Audio/Video Interpreter based in the United States.

This is a remote independent-contractor opportunity for a fluent English and Afghani/Dari language professional.
You’ll provide real-time audio and video interpretation for Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals across a variety of settings.
The role helps bridge communication gaps and ensures people can access information and services accurately and effectively.
You’ll handle inbound interpretation requests through a secure, web-based platform and respond to calls as they arise.
Success requires excellent language fluency, strong listening skills, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality.
You’ll work independently from a quiet, secure environment while following established interpretation protocols and industry standards.

• Provide accurate and effective audio and video interpretation between English and Afghani/Dari through a web-based interpretation platform.
• Answer inbound interpretation calls promptly and remain attentive and professional throughout each interaction.
• Facilitate clear communication for Limited English Proficient individuals across a range of situations and service environments.
• Deliver high-quality customer service while maintaining professionalism, neutrality, and cultural awareness.
• Follow established interpretation protocols, policies, procedures, and industry-specific best practices.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with the applicable professional Code of Conduct.
• Use web-based platforms, email, Microsoft Word, and other required technology effectively to support interpretation services.
• Maintain a quiet, secure, and professional workspace that is free from background noise and interruptions.
• Demonstrate reliability, responsiveness, and consistent adherence to quality standards while working independently.

• Full professional fluency in English and Afghani/Dari.
• At least 1 year of professional interpreting experience preferred.
• Strong listening, comprehension, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret accurately and efficiently in real-time audio and video interactions.
• Strong understanding of confidentiality, professional ethics, and interpretation standards.
• Comfortable working independently and responding to inbound calls on demand.
• Proficiency with web-based technology, email, Microsoft Word, and similar digital tools.
• Reliable access to a quiet, secure, interruption-free workspace suitable for professional interpreting.
• Industry-specific interpreting certifications or training, such as CMI or CCHI, are preferred.
• Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to remain calm, focused, and professional in varied situations.
