Senior Construction Superintendent
Spyder builds and restores commercial, multifamily, and HOA properties across Colorado, and the Senior Superintendent runs our largest and most complex jobs, along with training and mentorship of the other field staff. When the schedule is tight, the scope is complicated, and the stakes are high, you are the person on site who holds the standard. The plan gets built right, the records prove it, and the supers and foremen coming up behind you learn what good looks like by watching how you work.
What You Will Own
• Run Spyder's largest and most complex projects with accuracy and professionalism, owning schedule, subcontractors, safety, quality, and documentation from start to closeout.
• Build and manage the project Schedule with the PM, coordinate 3-week look ahead schedules with Superintendents or Foremen to keep trades from stacking, and drive every milestone in on time.
• Produce accurate Daily Site Reports and document progress, inspections, and conditions using Spyder's templates and Dropbox. Nothing missing, nothing guessed.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and punch lists while keeping project records complete and defensible.
• Run all project walks and inspections (Pre-Punch, Demo, Rough, Pre-Drywall and Paint, Final Punch, Closeout) and execute every resulting action item.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact, communicating scope, schedule, and status clearly to clients, project teams, and trade partners.
• Set the standard for Superintendents and Foremen. Bring less experienced field leaders up to your level of scheduling discipline, documentation, and quality control.
What You Bring
Must-haves:
• 7 to 9 years of construction experience, including running complex or multiple projects at once.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• Deep command of construction methods and local, state, and federal building codes.
• A documentation and scheduling discipline others can be measured against: Look Ahead Schedules, daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists that stand up on their own.
Nice-to-haves:
• A track record of mentoring or leading other superintendents and field crews to a consistent standard.
• Experience managing multiple complex scopes of work, trades, and field staff simultaneously.
• Clear written and verbal communication that keeps clients and teams aligned and resolves issues before they grow.
If you run projects on gut feel and loose paperwork, the most complex jobs will expose it fast. This seat is for the superintendent whose sites are the ones other people get told to model.
The Work Itself
This is a field role on active job sites. Expect to be on your feet, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather. Regular travel between job sites across Colorado is required. You are the primary on-site leader, so daily presence and reliability are non-negotiable.
Why Spyder
We are authentic, disciplined, and gritty, and we deliver every time. On our hardest sites; that shows up as ownership: you start it, finish it, and own it, without waiting to be chased. It shows up as consistency: clients and crews know exactly what to expect from you, every day, on every walk. We build real relationships with the trades, clients, and field leaders we work alongside, the kind that hold up when a job gets hard. And we keep growing, because the people who thrive here sharpen their craft on every project and lift the people around them while they do it.
