The Senior Commercial Account Manager will be responsible for managing franchise-focused commercial accounts, developing new opportunities, supporting client retention, and ensuring high-quality service throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities through prospecting activities, including cold calls, outreach campaigns, referrals, and networking initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for account expansion and cross-selling.
- Manage commercial franchise accounts by understanding client needs, providing guidance, and resolving coverage, payment, or service-related issues.
- Coordinate presentations for new business opportunities and renewal discussions, ensuring proposals align with client objectives.
- Support marketing and business development activities by combining relationship management skills with strong product knowledge.
- Achieve business development targets by generating new opportunities through referrals, niche marketing, and proactive outreach.
- Gather and analyze required information for quality submissions, including applications, questionnaires, documentation, risk details, and supporting materials.
- Collaborate with internal teams, underwriters, marketing professionals, and risk specialists to evaluate opportunities and negotiate solutions.
- Maintain strong knowledge of market requirements, underwriting criteria, and available commercial products.
- Assist with account renewals, client presentations, policy delivery, and ongoing relationship management.
- Provide professional communication and consultation to clients, business representatives, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, follow up on client requests, and ensure timely completion of account-related activities.
The ideal candidate is a commercially focused professional with strong franchise account management experience, excellent relationship-building abilities, and a proven history of business development within financial services.
- 4+ years of experience managing commercial franchise accounts within a banking, financial institution, or related environment.
- Previous experience working with franchise businesses and commercial financing solutions.
- Proven track record of business development, including managing franchise financing deals exceeding $5 million.
- Experience working within the Toronto market or territory.
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, commerce, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of commercial account management, client relationships, and risk evaluation processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, internal teams, and external partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a client-focused environment.
- French language skills are considered an asset.
