Job Description
Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing team. The CMA plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by supporting physicians and advanced practice providers with both clinical and administrative duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure timely patient flow.
- Assist physicians and providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Perform clinical procedures including injections, EKGs, venipuncture, specimen collection, wound care, dressing changes, and point-of-care testing as directed.
- Administer medications and immunizations as ordered by the provider and within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Review provider schedules and prepare patient charts before appointments.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
- Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, procedures, and preventive health measures.
- Clean, disinfect, and stock examination rooms and clinical supplies.
- Maintain infection control standards and comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies.
- Assist with prescription refill requests according to provider protocols.
- Respond to patient phone calls and portal messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical medical assistant experience preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Experience in a specialty medical practice.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Strong clinical and patient assessment skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with providers and staff.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, and clinical safety standards.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands for clinical procedures and computer work.
- Ability to assist patients with mobility when necessary.
