As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team responsible for building and scaling innovative product experiences. You will partner with product and technical leaders to define strategy, guide execution, and create a culture of engineering excellence.
- Define and evolve the technical vision and strategy for the team in partnership with Product, Design, Applied Science, and Data Science stakeholders.
- Lead execution against team objectives and key results (OKRs), ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Guide teams through complex technical decisions, architectural tradeoffs, and product challenges.
- Manage, coach, and develop full-stack engineers across backend, frontend, iOS, and Android disciplines.
- Support the growth of senior engineers and future technical leaders through continuous feedback, career development, and performance management.
- Build and maintain a high-performing engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives, resolve dependencies, and deliver impactful marketplace solutions.
- Own the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of the infrastructure and systems managed by the team.
- Partner with other engineering leaders to improve engineering practices, organizational effectiveness, and technical standards.
- Use experimentation, analytics, qualitative research, and market insights to inform product and engineering decisions.
The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with a strong technical foundation, a passion for building high-performing teams, and experience delivering software products at scale. You should be comfortable operating strategically while remaining connected to technical execution.
- 2+ years of experience in an engineering management role.
- 5+ years of experience building and scaling software systems.
- Experience leading full-stack engineering teams and managing engineers at different levels of seniority.
- Strong technical judgment with experience guiding teams through architectural and product tradeoffs.
- Experience partnering with Product, Design, Applied Science, and Data Science teams to define product and technical strategies.
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and develop strong engineering talent.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple teams.
- Experience using experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, metrics, and research insights to guide product decisions.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a strong ownership mindset.
- Competitive salary range of $231,200–$299,200 CAD for candidates based in Ontario and British Columbia.
