Job Description

Fitness Coach

Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000 + 40% commission on all training sessions and up to a $4k annual bonus based on top performance.

Location: Redwood City, CA. Exact location details will be shared as soon as they become available!
Work Hours: Monday–Friday. Schedules will fall within the facilities' hours of operation (7:00 AM–7:00 PM). Typical shifts include 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, but schedule flexibility is required.

Your Mission:
Your mission is to be the motivational anchor of the fitness experience across an entire campus, ensuring the seamless delivery of every workout and coaching session. You set the stage for our members’ vitality, ensuring every weight, mat, and recovery tool is positioned with house proud precision. By owning the energy and flow of the fitness floor, you provide the expert foundation that fuels your members' physical performance and personal bests from the moment they begin their first set.
Your Focus:
You translate training plans and fitness schedules into seamless workouts. You manage all session logistics—from preparing equipment to coordinating smooth exercise transitions—ensuring even high-intensity classes run efficiently. By staying organized and calm under pressure, you maintain a professional, premium environment where clients can focus entirely on their training.
Outcomes Youll Deliver:
  • Planning & Designing Sessions: Design the logistical blueprint for extraordinary classes and personal training sessions. You precisely map out workout flows, timing, and equipment setups to ensure every session runs flawlessly and maximizes clients'
  • Coaching & Managing the Floor: Serve as the high-energy, grounding anchor on the gym floor. Whether leading a packed group class or an intimate personal training session, you project a calm, professional confidence—channeling the swan to smoothly handle unexpected injuries or equipment issues while keeping the client experience elite.
  • Maintaining & Resetting Spaces: Take pride in maintaining a pristine, training-ready stage. You manage the timely teardown, sanitization, and reorganization of the gym floor, studios & locker room, ensuring the next client steps into a spotless, welcoming environment.
  • Tracking Progress & Refining Workouts: Review client performance metrics, tracking data, and class attendance trends. You turn this feedback into detailed programming adjustments that hone the coaching craft of the whole team, leading to better member retention and fitness results.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the broader building ecosystem beyond the wellness center. You collaborate with the maintenance, leasing, and other teams to drive member engagement, ensuring your coaching efforts align with your building’s goals.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience providing personal training and teaching a variety of group fitness classes (e.g. strength, bootcamp, HIIT, yoga, or similar) preferably within a large campus, country club, or boutique wellness environment.
  • Current nationally recognized Personal Training certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) required. Additional certifications in specialties such as yoga, Pilates, aquatics, or other wellness modalities are a plus.
  • Proven experience delivering five-star service in high-volume or high-touch environments.
  • Effective problem-solver, resolving complex issues quickly while protecting the guest experience.
  • Comfortable partnering cross-functionally with key stakeholders to deliver an exceptional experience.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using booking, scheduling, and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack, event platforms).
  • Adaptable and confident learning new systems for membership and program management.
