RAMS Kindezi EMBRACE Clinical Program Manager

Kindezi Black Perinatal Wellness is a perinatal behavioral health program at Richmond Area Multi-Services (RAMS) focused on increasing racially and culturally-congruent practices and interventions for Black/African American birthing families in San Francisco. We are seeking a behavioral health clinician to join our team. Kindezi works in collaboration with UCSF EMBRACE, Homeless Children’s Network’s Black Birthing Health Initiative, Rafiki Coalition for Health & Wellness, Black Infant Health, and other community birthworkers to reduce inequitable care and Black maternal and infant birthing disparities.

We seek mission-driven, passionate candidates who have perinatal and/or maternal mental health and program operations experience and demonstrated commitment to fostering anti-racist practice, racial justice, and equity in behavioral health care access and service delivery. Summary of Responsibilities:

Provide oversight of day-to-day clinical and program operations of Kindezi Black Perinatal Mental Health, and direct supervision of program staff, which focuses on increasing culturally-congruent practices and interventions for Black/African American birthing families in San Francisco. Kindezi works in collaboration with UCSF EMBRACE, Homeless Children’s Network’s Black Birthing Health Initiative, Rafiki Coalition for Health & Wellness, Black Infant Health, and other community birthworkers to reduce inequitable care and Black maternal and infant birthing disparities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (include, but not limited to):

  • Develop and lead the day-to-day clinical operations of Kindezi Black Perinatal Wellness, including supervising and mentoring other behavioral health service providers
  • Dynamically and diplomatically liaison with community partners for training, case referrals and conferences, and program development
  • Support the development and monitoring of program policies and procedures (administrative, clinical) and evaluation strategies to ensure high quality standards and regulatory compliance
  • Provide culturally relevant and responsive, healing-centered/trauma-informed counseling and case management services to Black/African American birthing families from pregnancy through one year postpartum
  • Participate in planning meetings and provide technical assistance, training, and resources on culturally congruent models, interventions and promising practices to promote mental and overall wellbeing, including the transition to parenthood, attachment and bonding, co-parenting, and adjustment to related internal and environmental changes
  • Prepare narrative and data analysis reports, while meeting funder requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or other related disciplines from an accredited institution, required
  • Valid clinical licensure in California (i.e., Psychologist, LCSW, MFT, LPCC) and able to meet State/Board requirements to serve as a clinical supervisor
  • Experience in clinical consultation to clinical and non-clinical providers, preferred
  • One or more years of administrative and clinical management or supervision, in a community-based agency setting
  • At least three years of work experience providing trauma-informed outpatient behavioral health services to adults, children, youth and families; especially Black/African American communities
  • Knowledge and/or previous experience related to perinatal, maternal, and/or infant and early childhood mental health, particularly best practices and supportive interventions for those exposed to traumatic events
  • Familiarity with the diverse mental health needs of Black/African American individuals and communities and the historic social, political, economic influences of anti-Black racism and obstacles to wellness
  • Experience providing clinical supervision in community mental health settings, highly preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work locations include telehealth, office/clinic, and home/community visits
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized, think analytically, and value accuracy and organization
  • Knowledge of community resources/services (including public health, mental health, intimate partner/domestic violence, substance abuse, primary care, housing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with various treatment modalities, strategies, and approaches to trauma recovery work in Black/African American communities, highly preferred
  • A commitment to engage in professional development through attending trainings, continuing education seminars, case conferences, and reading new material, etc., as related to treatment and support services for expecting and postpartum families, and individuals with co-occurring disorders/dual diagnosis
  • Strong commitment to the philosophy, goals, & mission of RAMS, including providing clinically culturally sensitive and responsive behavioral health services in a community setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively, function independently, and interact professionally with a diverse, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary staff of all levels
