Job Description

Director, Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Marketing based in the United States.

This is a senior marketing leadership opportunity to build and scale a full-stack marketing function within a mission-driven healthcare organization.
You will own the marketing strategy, roadmap, budget, agencies, team, and measurable business results.
The role combines brand leadership with hands-on growth execution across acquisition, lifecycle, web, outreach, and measurement.
You will lead an upcoming rebrand and website launch while strengthening caregiver-first messaging across multiple audiences and channels.
Working closely with executive, clinical, partnerships, data, and operational teams, you will translate complex healthcare offerings into compelling, trustworthy communications.
You will also develop internal marketing capabilities, establish rigorous growth rhythms, and reduce reliance on external agencies over time.
This role is ideal for an experienced, adaptable marketer who thrives in a high-growth environment and is motivated by meaningful patient and caregiver impact.

Accountabilities
  • Own the overall marketing strategy, roadmap, priorities, budget, operating rhythm, and performance, ensuring the function remains focused on initiatives that drive enrollment and business growth.
  • Lead paid acquisition across search and social through performance agency partners, owning CAC, lead quality, funnel performance, and disciplined spend scaling.
  • Direct the rebrand and website launch, then manage the ongoing brand strategy, including caregiver-first messaging, condition-specific content, testimonials, outcomes data, partner proof points, and founder storytelling.
  • Develop and oversee growth strategies across brand, performance, lifecycle, outreach, engagement, web, and emerging channels such as direct mail, CTV, and print.
  • Build a deep understanding of caregivers and family decision-makers, defining personas, messaging hierarchies, outreach strategies, and experimentation priorities.
  • Establish trusted measurement practices in partnership with data teams, including channel attribution, funnel analysis, weekly dashboards, and insights connecting marketing investment to enrollment and completed visits.
  • Lead and develop the internal marketing team, including existing marketing and design resources, while progressively building internal capabilities and reducing agency dependence.
  • Manage external agencies and partners, setting expectations, evaluating performance, and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure public-facing communications are medically accurate, appropriately reviewed, and supported by appropriate patient and caregiver consent.
  • Develop B2B and B2B2C communications and co-marketing strategies with partnership teams, translating clinical outcomes and care models into compelling narratives for enterprise health systems, health plans, and other stakeholders.
  • Strengthen the organization’s presence across neurological disease communities, including ALS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s/dementia.
  • Lead cross-functional communications across consumer, partner, patient-facing, and internal audiences while maintaining consistency and clarity of messaging.
  • Use data, experimentation, and customer insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness, customer engagement, and growth outcomes.
  • Establish a scalable marketing operating model and prepare annual plans that align resources, initiatives, and targets with broader organizational priorities.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of marketing experience, including significant experience in DTC or B2B2C healthcare marketing; experience with virtual-first healthcare providers is highly valued.
  • Proven ownership of paid acquisition budgets with direct accountability for CAC, LTV, lead quality, and measurable growth outcomes.
  • Full-stack marketing expertise spanning brand, performance, lifecycle, and web, with demonstrated depth in at least two of these areas.
  • Experience developing and executing communications across B2C, B2B, B2B2C, internal, and patient-facing audiences.
  • Strong agency management experience, with the ability to establish accountability, drive quality, and determine when capabilities should transition in-house.
  • A hands-on leadership approach, with the ability to develop strategy while also writing briefs, analyzing performance data, shaping messaging, and delivering key initiatives personally.
  • Strong data fluency, including experience with product analytics, funnel analysis, attribution, and marketing performance measurement; familiarity with Mixpanel is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in early-stage or growth-stage environments with changing priorities, limited resources, and high expectations.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex healthcare concepts into clear, empathetic, and persuasive messaging.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with executive, clinical, data, partnerships, and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience marketing to older adults, caregivers, or family decision-makers is preferred.
  • Exposure to offline and emerging channels such as direct mail, CTV, or print is a plus.
  • Experience navigating clinical, legal, or regulatory review processes for public-facing content is preferred.
  • Existing relationships with patient advocacy organizations or nonprofit health communities are advantageous.
  • Strong empathy for patients and caregivers, curiosity, integrity, adaptability, and a bias toward action are essential.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Benefits
  • Fully remote position available across the 50 United States.
  • Home-office technology provided to support effective remote work.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options for employees and their families.
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Basic and supplemental life insurance.
  • 15 vacation days, 5 sick days, 12 paid holidays, and 2 floating holidays.
  • Fully paid end-of-year company holiday break, typically from Christmas through New Year's.
  • Family-building and fertility services through Kindbody, where available, at a 20% discount.
  • 24/7 mental health support through Health Advocate and Talkspace, including 12 free on-demand sessions annually.
  • Access to One Medical.
  • Mission-driven environment focused on improving experiences and outcomes for patients and caregivers living with neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Opportunities to build and lead a growing marketing organization while working directly with executive and cross-functional leadership.
  • Occasional travel may be required for team meetings or professional collaboration events.
  • Compensation is determined based on location, experience, and qualifications.
