Job Description
Ridgewood Terrace is seeking a dedicated and experienced Unit Manager to join our Long-Term Care team. The Unit Manager is responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervising nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident-centered care, and promoting a safe and supportive environment for residents, families, and team members.
The successful candidate will be a strong leader with excellent clinical knowledge, communication skills, and a commitment to quality care and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and clinical oversight of the assigned resident care unit.
- Supervise and support Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs), and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and resident-centered care in accordance with legislation, professional standards, and organizational policies.
- Review and update resident care plans as needed and ensure timely documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and infection prevention and control programs.
- Investigate and follow up on resident and family concerns, incidents, and complaints.
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, residents, and families to achieve optimal resident outcomes.
- Assist with coaching, and professional development.
- Promote compliance with applicable long-term care regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities as required.
- Other tasks as delegated.
Qualifications
- Current license in good standing with the applicable nursing regulatory body.
- Registered Nurse (RN) designation preferred; LPN candidates with relevant management experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience in long-term care, geriatric care, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
- Current BLS certification.
- Must be able to participate in on-call rotation.
