Responsibilities

• *Must be available to cover various posts during the assigned shift
• protects life and property of all persons on hospital premises and patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism.
• Secures, unlocks, and protects hospital buildings. Responds to security needs of the hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Experience: Two to five (2-5) years of experience in the field of law enforcement, security operations, or a related field is required. Experience in a health care setting is preferred.
• Licensure/ Certifications: A current Basic Life Support (CPR) American Red Cross or American Heart Association Provider certification or a CPI certification is preferred.
• Other: Must be able to successfully clear a background check, including a criminal search. Use or possession of a firearm and/or other weapons is prohibited.

Merrimack Health is looking for Security Officers and Supervisors and managers in Methuen and Haverhill surrounding areas! Merrimack Health is hosting an in-person Job Fair/Hiring Event on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026! If you have experience in security, Poice, EMT/Firefighter, dispatch, and are interested in working with us, please apply! Dress code will be business attire or business casual!

Minimum Security Officer Requirements:
• 2 years of Customer Service Experience.
• Previous security or supervisor experience, or related field/education.
• Neat and professional appearance
• Dependable means of transportation
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (both written and verbal)
• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
• Successfully pass criminal background screenings
• Successfully pass drug screening
• Strong professionalism
• Career orientated
• Strong Leadership skills
