About This Position
The Director of Foundation Operations, Beacon Health Foundation, is a key member of the Foundation leadership team. Reporting to the President of Beacon Health Foundation, this role is instrumental in driving the success of the Foundation by overseeing strategic operations and shared services, ensuring accountability in line with organizational goals. This role encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities, including managing shared services such as data management, finance, and prospect research. The Director of Foundation Operations collaborates closely with the other Foundation Directors and the President to identify and assess new funding priorities and requests. Additionally, the Director of Foundation Operations is responsible for the efficient management of disbursements, tracking project progress to completion, and ensuring prudent utilization of allocated funds.

- Develop and manage the foundation's annual budget, including planning, analysis, and variance reporting.
- Serve as the liaison with the health system's finance department to manage the annual financial audit and ensure sound fiscal management.
- Ensure all foundation activities, including fundraising, grantmaking, and asset management, comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for philanthropy shared services, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with organizational goals.
- Direct and integrate core functions, including prospect research, planned giving, financial oversight, and data management.
- Ensure prudent utilization of philanthropic resources through effective financial management, compliance and performance monitoring.
- Oversee donor data systems and business intelligence infrastructure, ensuring strong governance, security and vendor collaboration.
- Drive accountability through clear processes, performance metrics, benchmarking and analytics at the market and system levels.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of strategic projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved on time and within scope.

- Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
- Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Complies with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Professional Requirements
- Undergraduate degree required, master’s degree in business, marketing or communications is strongly preferred.
- At least (7-10) years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising with progressive experience in foundation management or related fields is required.
- Raiser’s Edge experience strongly preferred; fundraising database or CRM system required with ability to leverage data for strategic insights
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, reporting, and nonprofit investment management.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, foundation governance, and financial management is crucial.
- Effective project and data management capabilities to coordinate complex fundraising initiatives.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable navigating multi-level organizations and working independently or within a team.
- Demonstrated expertise in grants management and proposal evaluation.
- Knowledge of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and techniques is required.
- Possess strong analytical and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to translate organizational goals into actionable plans.
- Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion.
Working Conditions
- Multi-state (Indiana and Michigan) travel required. Some overnights.
- Works in an office environment.
- May experience some mental/visual fatigue due to continued use of computer equipment
