Overnight Attendants at Giving Tree Pets are responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of all pets in our care throughout the night.

This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, attentive, comfortable working independently, and genuinely passionate about animals. Because Overnight Attendants work with minimal supervision, we are looking for someone who takes responsibility seriously, follows established procedures, and can use good judgment when situations arise.

Pet Care & Safety

• Provide attentive overnight supervision for all pets in our care.
• Complete regular checks to ensure pets are safe, comfortable, and secure.
• Monitor pets for changes in behavior, health, or overall well-being.
• Respond appropriately to pets' individual needs throughout the night.
• Promptly document and communicate any health concerns, unusual behavior, injuries, incidents, or other concerns to management.
• Follow all established safety, care, and emergency procedures.

Cleaning & Facility Care

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized environment throughout the facility.
• Complete all assigned overnight cleaning and care responsibilities.
• Clean and maintain pet areas as needed throughout the shift.
• Restock supplies and keep work areas organized.
• Prepare the facility for the morning team and ensure a smooth shift transition.

Overnight Attendants play an especially important role in maintaining that standard. We are looking for someone who will treat every pet with patience, attentiveness, and care while taking ownership of the responsibilities entrusted to them.

• Must be available to work the full overnight shift from 6:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable handling and caring for dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
• Able to remain attentive and responsive to pets throughout the overnight shift
• Ability to recognize and promptly report changes in a pet’s behavior, health, or condition
• Must follow all established pet care, safety, cleaning, and emergency procedures
• Able to complete cleaning, sanitizing, restocking, and facility preparation duties
• Strong communication skills and ability to accurately document and report incidents or concerns
• Must demonstrate good judgment, responsibility, and attention to detail
• Must be able to safely perform the physical duties associated with animal care, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and cleaning
• Must have a genuine commitment to the safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet in our care
