Job Description
About Patient Care Infusion
We're hiring an experienced Pharmacy Technician for our Tempe pharmacy — someone who wants their work to actually reach the patient, not just the shelf.
Patient Care Infusion (PCI) is a locally owned, closed-door home infusion pharmacy and sister company to Arizona Home Care, which has served Valley patients for over 30 years. We don't have a retail counter or walk-in customers. Our front end works like a pharmacy call center: patients, caregivers, and nurses call us, and our techs make sure refills are processed, orders are right, and deliveries show up on time.
What you'll do
- Handle a high volume of calls, emails, and faxes from patients, caregivers, nurses, and provider offices in a timely and professional manner
- Make outbound calls to check patients' supply levels and set up upcoming refills
- Receive and process prescription refill requests from patients and authorized representatives
- Enter new and refill prescription information into pharmacy systems accurately
- Initiate or accept verbal, electronic, or written refill authorizations per regulatory guidelines
- Coordinate medication refills and delivery schedules with patients, staff, and delivery personnel
- Collect patient payments and document them accurately
- Maintain complete and accurate patient profiles and records in compliance with Arizona Board of Pharmacy requirements and HIPAA
- Support coordination between pharmacy, nursing staff, and providers to ensure continuity of care
Schedule details
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Occasional overtime as needed
- On-call rotation once fully trained (requires a 30-minute phone response time)
What we offer
- $20–$25/hr based on experience and license level
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
- Pet insurance
- 401(k)
- 120 hours of PTO
- Paid holidays
- Free CEUs and ongoing training
- A desk, a headset, and a team that has your back — no retail counter, no drive-thru
Required
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician License (or Technician Trainee License)
- At least 1 year of customer service experience, ideally phone-based
- Comfortable handling a steady stream of calls every day
- Strong typing and data entry skills, with close attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable — you can roll with changing priorities
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
- Pharmacy call center, specialty, or mail-order pharmacy experience
- Home infusion or home health experience
- CareTend or other pharmacy management software
- Experience with insurance, prior authorizations, or refill authorizations
