The Opportunity
Moonlight Basin is seeking a talented and passionate Golf Maintenance Crew Member to join our grounds team, helping maintain a golf course that meets the highest standards of playability, safety, and appearance for our members and guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily course set-up including walk mowing greens and tees, raking bunkers, setting tee markers, mowing fairways & roughs, cutting cups, hand watering, and sweeping cart paths.
- Assist crew members with the application of fertilizers and chemical applications under the supervision of a licensed applicator.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while working around members and guests.
- Assist with a variety of construction-related projects on the golf course, including drainage installation, silt fence installation and maintenance, erosion matting, hydro-seeding, laying or hand watering new sod, seeding greens or tees, leveling irrigation heads, and bunker maintenance.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times when on the property.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, vehicles, and supplies are properly used, maintained, and stored.
- Maintain positive interactions with club members and guests, providing a high level of customer service.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or other members of the senior management team, as deemed appropriate.
Competencies
- General understanding of the game of golf preferred.
- Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in landscape maintenance work.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team with other grounds crew members.
- Ability to follow written and oral directions from a supervisor or manager.
- Ability to understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and other safety instructions.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the landscaping and/or turf industry preferred.
- Prior experience operating outdoor power equipment, including walk-behind mowers, chain saws, and trimmers.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power equipment related to golf course maintenance.
- Must comply with Moonlight Basin's Dress and Grooming policies.
- Must be dependable and available to work weekends, nights, and/or holidays based on business demands.
- Must be able to work flexible and long hours as business demands require.
- Punctuality and regular, reliable attendance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods outdoors (up to 10 hours per shift).
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
- Ability to safely operate walk-behind and riding mowing equipment, hand tools, and occasionally tractors and loaders.
- Manual dexterity to handle mowing equipment, hand tools, and maintenance supplies with precision and safety.
- Ability to perform daily responsibilities outdoors in all weather conditions, including sun, heat, cold, and precipitation.
- Must have the stamina to perform physically demanding, repetitive tasks such as mowing, raking, and digging.
- Ability to safely navigate uneven, wet, or sloped terrain around the golf course.
- Comfortable working long shifts, weekends, and holidays based on seasonal business demands.
