Job Description
The School of Sciences & Health at Elizabethtown College is currently seeking an Adjunct Faculty-Teaching First Semester Biology Laboratory for the spring semester.
The successful applicant will teach one laboratory section (3 work units) of a first semester biology course (Biology 111L) for science majors for the Elizabethtown College Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences.
Position Responsibilities are as follows:
- Teach the laboratory course in person using an existing Canvas course, including laboratory protocols, assignments and exams.
- Meet regularly with the Biology 111 laboratory course coordinator and the department co-chairs to discuss course progress.
- Work with a undergraduate laboratory assistant recruited and trained by the Biology 111 laboratory course coordinator.
- Mentor the students in the classroom and seek help as necessary with concerns about students.
- Be open to classroom peer evaluation
- Maintain regularly scheduled in-person office hours
Applicants should have an MS degree or Ph.D. in a biological field of study or should be in the process of obtaining a Ph.D.
