Job Description
Job Title: Student Aide
Reports To: Department Director
Direct Reports: None
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Student Aide supports clinical and administrative operations, as appropriate within a healthcare environment while gaining exposure to patient care workflows. This role assists licensed staff with non‑clinical tasks, promotes a safe and organized care setting, and contributes to positive patient experiences. It is designed for students pursuing a career in healthcare.
General Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities.
- Observes department flow, skills, tasks, etc., assists as appropriate.
- Provide general support, including stocking supplies, preparing rooms, and maintaining clean, orderly work areas.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, answering phones, and managing documents.
- Complies with all established safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- High School diploma / Equivalent Required
- Must be enrolled in current accredited program at college/university
Experience Requirements
- Must meet College to Career Student Work Pathway Program criteria
- Must have a strong interest in healthcare careers with a willingness to learn within a clinical setting
- Healthcare experience preferred
Additional Skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn in a dynamic healthcare environment
