Remote Senior Life Underwriting Consultant

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Life Underwriting Consultant - REMOTE. In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert in life underwriting, assessing and managing both medical and financial risks for a variety of cases. You will work with minimal supervision, and your decisions will directly impact underwriting processes. The role also involves collaboration with distribution teams and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication of underwriting decisions. Your ability to mentor others and improve processes will be highly valued, as will your representation of the company at industry events. Accountabilities
  • Review and assess medical and financial risk for complex underwriting cases.
  • Communicate underwriting decisions effectively with agents and distribution partners.
  • Provide technical support and informal leadership to the underwriting team.
  • Document risk assessment information accurately in the system application.
  • Mentor and coach other underwriters as needed.
  • Recommend improvements to underwriting guidelines and processes.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance underwriting performance.
  • Represent the underwriting department in industry forums and meetings.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in Life Insurance Underwriting.
  • Four-year degree in Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with mentoring and coaching in a professional setting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex cases.
