The Cocktail Server is responsible for delivering elevated beverage service while creating a vibrant, engaging guest experience. This role serves as a brand ambassador, providing knowledgeable recommendations, timely service, and attentive hospitality in a fast-paced, upscale environment. Cocktail Servers must maintain strong product knowledge, execute service with precision, and work collaboratively with the bar and floor teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and guest satisfaction. Cocktail Servers are expected to drive beverage sales through knowledgeable recommendations and suggestive selling while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt, polished, and attentive beverage service to guests in accordance with fine-dining standards
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer to confidently guide guest selections
• Accurately take and enter drink orders, ensuring correct preparation, delivery, and presentation
• Verify guest age and identification in accordance with company policy and applicable liquor laws
• Carry and deliver beverages safely and efficiently throughout the restaurant while maintaining service standards
• Monitor guest needs throughout service, including refills, pacing, and check presentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready service area at all times
• Complete assigned side work, stocking, and opening/closing duties to support service operations
• Communicate effectively with bartenders, barbacks, and floor staff to support smooth service flow
• Execute service using established steps of service to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Uphold responsible alcohol service standards and comply with all applicable laws and company policies
• Build rapport with guests to encourage repeat visits and enhance the overall experience
• Resolve routine guest concerns and communicate service issues to management as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cocktail Server or Server in an upscale or full-service restaurant environment preferred
• Current alcohol service certification or the ability to obtain required certification as required by state or local law
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and applicable liquor laws
• Strong communication and multitasking skills with the ability to remain composed under pressure
• Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain standing and active for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts.
• Ability to move throughout all areas of the restaurant, including dining rooms, bars, service stations, storage areas, and outdoor spaces as applicable.
• Ability to frequently carry beverage trays, glassware, and other service-related items during the course of service.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in a busy restaurant environment.
• Ability to operate a POS system and other restaurant equipment as required.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, crowded conditions, and a fast-paced environment.
