Job Description

Summary

Interacts with customers and records information into computer for inventory control and orders for customers by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Talks with customers and sales personnel and receives orders for product and delivery.

Inputs orders into system and determines correct prices for product. Solicits sale of new or additional services.

Adjusts complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated person for investigation.


Puts out price sheets to customers and sales personnel. Check inventory to assure orders can be filled and alerts proper personnel of needs.


Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

Prepares sales reports and presentations and presents to customers.

Coordinates customer training.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of our inventory management software (Currently BisTrack by Epicor) and a user’s level understanding of MS Office suite of products, specifically Outlook & Excel.
