Compensation Specialist

Compensation Specialist:

The Compensation Specialist will research the various elements of jobs (including but not limited to education requirements, job duties, and applicable supervisory responsibility) and evaluate job positions as compared to current market data to facilitate organizational competitiveness related to compensation. This person will coordinate all compensation efforts for AnMed’s compensation program, including market research, compensation surveys, market adjustment calculations, and proposals utilizing best practices for an effective and efficient use of organizational resources. Works with the HR talent acquisition team to assess candidate’s prior experience to make fair and equitable job offers to candidates.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partners with department leaders to evaluate and ensure job descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
  • Interviews and surveys leaders and employees to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, skills and education required by each job.
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine appropriate classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Works with the HR recruitment team to assess experience and calculate a fair and equitable job offer to potential employees.
  • Prepares and maintains historical and current job classifications and salary scales.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses appropriate tools and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Conducts focus groups to collect employee feedback on specific issues or topics related to compensation and analyzes exit interview data to identify trends related to compensation.
  • Research, communicate and utilize best practices for compensating and incentivizing staff to ensure the efficient and effective use or organizational financial resources.
  • Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies and human resource procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications include:

  • Associate's Degree
  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of experience in human resources.

Required Skills/ Abilities include:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Healthcare human resources experience preferred.
  • Large scale compensation experience.
