This position will be full-time onsite in Greenville, SC. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM.
AMECO is seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join our team. This position conducts work directly related to management or general business operations within the organization and requires accounting knowledge and effective communication skills.
The Project Accountant assumes responsibility for the maintenance of both P&L and Balance Sheet ledger accounts and analyzes project activities. The role performs all aspects of the project’s accounting including reconciliation of all revenue and cost. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial project reporting and must be able to organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks while meeting all deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the Contract/MSA/PO terms and prepare Project summary sheet.
- Understand and apply GAAP accounting methodologies.
- Participate in the internal & external Project Alignment Process.
- Ensure the proper set-up of the project in ERP.
- Perform on/off rents as required, prepare and submit various types of project invoices, ensure collection of AR.
- Monitor and resolve open purchase orders, open vouchers, third party reconciliation reports, open work orders, reconcile costs,
- Prepare monthly variance analysis of revenue and EBIT (monthly performance comparison with prior month’s actuals and outlook estimates).
- Prepare for and participate in Project Reviews.
- Assist with planning, forecasting and perform project close-out activities.
- Interface with other groups inside and outside the organization, senior management, other locations, clients, and auditors.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and Sustainability initiatives.
- Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field of study; and two years of experience in project accounting or financial analysis, or
- A combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computer-based business applications and emphasis in EXCEL.
- Ability to become a power user of AMECO’s ERP application.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in project management or financial analysis preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Individuals may be required to frequently sit/drive stand, walk, lift/carry, reach, stoop, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, talk, hear, engage in repetitive motions, and demonstrate eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Close vision is required for this job.
- Employees may be required to occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Often required to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines, thus some stress may occur.
Work Environment:
- Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or:
- Occasionally may require exposure to production/manufacturing areas, which may result in being near moving mechanical parts or being exposed to fumes or airborne particles. These respective areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or hard hats. The noise level in the production/manufacturing areas is usually loud.
- Often required to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines, thus some stress may occur.
- Environmental conditions may include occasional exposure to heat, temperature changes, noise, and humidity.
- Occasionally the performance of this position will require exposure to production/manufacturing areas, which may result in being near moving mechanical parts or being exposed to fumes or airborne particles. These respective areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or hard hats. The noise level in these areas is usually loud.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required for business-related matters.
