About the Role
Gramazon is seeking a dependable, accurate, and efficient Material Handler to support order fulfillment at our cannabis processing facility in Flint, Michigan.
This position is responsible for accurately picking, verifying, staging, and preparing finished cannabis products for outgoing orders and internal transfers. The Order Picker works directly from pick lists and inventory systems to locate products, confirm quantities, verify product information, and ensure each order is complete and accurate before being released for shipment.
Accuracy and speed are equally important in this role. We are looking for someone who can work efficiently in a high-volume warehouse and fulfillment environment without sacrificing inventory accuracy or attention to detail.
Cannabis experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in warehouse order picking, fulfillment, distribution centers, grocery, retail backrooms, manufacturing, or other high-volume inventory environments are strongly encouraged to apply.
Essential Responsibilities
Order Picking & Fulfillment
- Pick cannabis products and finished goods according to assigned orders and pick lists.
- Locate products accurately using designated warehouse and inventory locations.
- Verify product names, SKUs, quantities, package information, and other order details.
- Ensure the correct products and quantities are selected for every order.
- Stage completed orders in designated areas for verification and shipment.
- Maintain organized separation between individual customer orders and internal transfers.
- Meet daily order fulfillment expectations while maintaining accuracy.
Order Verification
- Review completed orders against pick lists before staging.
- Verify product quantities, SKUs, labels, and package information.
- Identify missing, incorrect, damaged, or questionable products before orders are released.
- Immediately communicate order discrepancies to Inventory or Warehouse leadership.
- Assist with correcting picking errors and resolving product-location discrepancies.
- Ensure orders are complete before being transferred to Shipping.
Inventory Accuracy
- Maintain inventory accuracy while picking and moving products.
- Ensure products are removed from the correct inventory and storage locations.
- Report incorrect locations, missing inventory, damaged products, or quantity discrepancies immediately.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory counts as needed.
- Support inventory reconciliation when physical product does not match system records.
- Maintain proper product organization throughout the warehouse.
Order Staging & Shipping Support
- Organize and stage completed orders for outbound shipment.
- Ensure staged orders remain properly identified and separated.
- Assist Shipping & Receiving with preparing orders for distribution.
- Support internal transfers between Gramazon / DACUT operations as assigned.
- Verify that completed orders are transferred to the appropriate shipping or staging location.
- Assist with loading and movement of products when required.
Cannabis Compliance
- Follow all company SOPs for cannabis product handling and inventory control.
- Maintain proper chain-of-custody throughout the picking and staging process.
- Ensure regulated cannabis products remain properly identified and controlled.
- Follow established procedures for handling inventory discrepancies.
- Support accurate METRC and internal inventory records by ensuring physical product movements are completed correctly.
- Immediately report any inventory or compliance concerns to leadership.
Warehouse Organization
- Maintain clean and organized product storage and fulfillment areas.
- Ensure products are returned to appropriate locations when necessary.
- Keep aisles, shelving, staging areas, and workspaces organized and free of hazards.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, replenishment, and warehouse organization when order volume allows.
- Follow FIFO or other established inventory-rotation procedures as required.
Productivity & Performance
- Work efficiently to complete assigned orders within established timelines.
- Maintain high order accuracy while meeting productivity expectations.
- Monitor assigned workload and communicate potential delays.
- Follow established picking routes and procedures to maximize efficiency.
- Support high-volume fulfillment periods and changing order priorities.
- Maintain consistent performance throughout the workday.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Inventory, Shipping & Receiving, Supply Chain, Processing, Sales, and Warehouse leadership.
- Communicate inventory shortages and order discrepancies promptly.
- Assist team members during high-volume periods.
- Support additional warehouse and fulfillment responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, order picking, fulfillment, inventory, shipping, receiving, retail backroom operations, or a comparable environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to read and accurately follow pick lists and order documentation.
- Basic computer and inventory-system skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to work within Michigan's regulated cannabis industry.
Preferred
- Previous order picker or fulfillment experience.
- Experience working in distribution centers, warehouses, grocery fulfillment, retail backrooms, manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods.
- Cannabis processing, distribution, or inventory experience.
- Experience using ERP, WMS, inventory management, barcode scanning, or similar systems.
- Experience working with handheld scanners or inventory devices.
- Familiarity with METRC is a plus but not required.
- Experience working in a regulated or high-control inventory environment.
- Performance Expectations
- Order Accuracy: Products, SKUs, quantities, and packages are picked correctly the first time.
- Productivity: Orders are completed efficiently and within established fulfillment timelines.
- Inventory Integrity: Physical product movements maintain accurate inventory records.
- Order Completion: Missing or incorrect products are identified before orders reach Shipping.
- Organization: Products and completed orders remain properly organized, identified, and staged.
- Compliance: Cannabis products are handled according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Reliability: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and productivity throughout scheduled shifts.

Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).

- Maintain manual dexterity to package, label, sort, and inspect cannabis products.

- Work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, beard covers (if applicable), safety glasses, and other protective gear.
- Maintain visual acuity to inspect products, read labels, and identify quality concerns.
- Work in varying environmental conditions, including temperature-controlled production areas.
- Safely operate production equipment and follow all safety procedures.
- Ability to remain focused and meet production quotas while adhering to compliance and quality standards.
- Regular and reliable attendance with the ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
