Responsibilities

The Senior Business Analyst supports the software development team by gathering high-quality software requirements in an Agile development environment. This individual will:

• Performs UAT on completed work. Providing clear stakeholder communication across business lines.
• Elicit business requirements from business users and subject matter experts. Gathers & catalogues functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests.
• Define and document requirements into Agile User Story format using SMART decomposition, define the corresponding business-driven acceptance criteria and test cases.
• Assist in operational rollout and support of software development team.
• Acts as the product(s) subject matter expert to support scope and requirement decisions.
• Analyze and help the Product Manager to prioritize backlogs around business value.
• Participate in and facilitate relevant Agile ceremonies and rituals: Backlog Grooming, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demos, Sprint Retrospectives.
• Proactively support the uplift of Agile practices and foster a culture of continual product and process improvement.
• Provide subject matter expertise in specific functional area(s) for assigned Scrum team.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience. MIS/BIS degrees preferred
• Certification in Agile Scrum, specifically Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Required Experience

• Minimal 2-year business analysis experience
• Experience with Agile methodology, writing user stories, managing scrum calls, prioritizing backlog, etc.
• Experience delivering requirements for consumer facing web and mobile solutions

Preferred Experience

• Some experience in project management and leadership
• Experience in financial services with a preference for fintech or consumer lending technology platforms

Technical Skills

• Experience configuring and operating various software tools
• Experience in using appropriate Agile Project Management tools such as Jira, Rally, VersionOne, or equivalent
• Experience in effectively uncovering hidden or non-functional requirements
• Understanding of software systems, technologies and software development practices
