Job Description

Staff Platform Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Platform Engineer in Canada.

This role sits at the heart of a modern, cloud-native engineering organization building enterprise-grade software that transforms how organizations manage complex contract lifecycles. You will help design and scale a serverless, AI-enabled platform that supports high-volume, high-stakes business processes across global customers. Working closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and AI specialists, you will contribute to both architectural direction and hands-on development. The environment is fast-moving and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on scalability, automation, and developer experience. You will also play a key role in improving infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and internal engineering tools that enable rapid, high-quality delivery. This is a senior technical leadership role combining deep engineering expertise with product impact and mentorship responsibilities.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, cloud-native software applications within an enterprise platform environment.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to define and implement technical solutions for complex, real-world business problems.
  • Work closely with AI engineers to integrate and optimize large language model (LLM) capabilities into production systems.
  • Lead architectural decisions and contribute to system design discussions alongside senior engineering stakeholders.
  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance through continuous code and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and observability/monitoring frameworks.
  • Enhance internal developer tools, workflows, and engineering best practices to improve team efficiency.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers while contributing to technical leadership across the team.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery activities across the full application stack.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a technical lead, architecture, or senior leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python in production-grade systems.
  • Proven experience building cloud-native, serverless applications on AWS (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and modern software architecture principles.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, SAM or similar) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
  • Solid knowledge of Docker, containerized applications, and orchestration platforms such as ECS.
  • Strong understanding of Git, relational databases (Postgres preferred), and data modeling principles.
  • Experience working in agile, product-driven engineering environments.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with a user-centric mindset.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor) is highly desirable.
  • Interest or experience in building applications leveraging LLM APIs is a strong plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with senior platform engineering roles.
  • Fully remote or flexible work arrangements depending on team structure.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI-enabled SaaS products at enterprise scale.
  • Strong focus on professional growth, technical leadership, and career development.
  • Inclusive and diverse work environment with emphasis on work-life balance.
  • Wellness support, including flexible holidays and wellness days.
  • Access to modern engineering tools, cloud infrastructure, and AI-powered development workflows.
  • Collaborative culture with high autonomy and impact on product and architecture decisions.
