VAE, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Logistician to support the VMOD 2.0 contract. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of DoD logistics operations, supply chain management, and military maintenance/sustainment environments. This role is responsible for coordinating and optimizing transportation, inventory management, and distribution processes to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment in direct support of VMOD 2.0 mission requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
VAE, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Logistician to support the VMOD 2.0 contract. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of DoD logistics operations, supply chain management, and military maintenance/sustainment environments. This role is responsible for coordinating and optimizing transportation, inventory management, and distribution processes to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment in direct support of VMOD 2.0 mission requirements.
Key Responsibities:
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics operations in support of VMOD 2.0, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and carriers to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain solutions aligned with contract requirements
- Monitor shipments and deliveries to ensure on-time performance and resolve any issues that may arise
- Analyze logistical data and generate reports to improve efficiency and reduce costs in support of program objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, engineering, and government stakeholders, to optimize supply chain strategies
- Utilize logistics software and tools to track shipments, analyze performance metrics, and streamline processes
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and logistics transactions in accordance with DoD and contract requirements
- Prepare and process required DoD documentation, including DD Form 250, UID tags, and other applicable forms
- Identify areas for improvement in logistics and supply chain processes and recommend solutions
- Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local regulations regarding shipping and logistics
- Develop and execute contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions and maintain mission continuity
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to commute to Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD as needed
- Active Secret clearance required
- 5–10 years of logistics experience, with a strong preference for DoD or defense contracting environments
- Demonstrated experience with DoD required forms and processes (e.g., DD Form 250, UID tags, Material Inspection and Receiving Reports)
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, including inventory management and transportation coordination
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights to optimize logistics operations
- Knowledge of best practices in warehouse logistics, automation, and government property management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting vehicle or equipment modification contracts within the DoD
- Familiarity with Army or DoD property accountability systems (e.g., LIW, GCSS-Army, or similar)
- Experience developing and maintaining logistics management plans or supply support plans
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting in a warehouse or depot environment
