Job Description
SSMC is a fast-paced, patient-centered outpatient clinic dedicated to providing high-quality care to our community. We’re looking for caring and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) who thrive in a collaborative healthcare environment and are experienced in ambulatory care settings.
In this role, you’ll provide both direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist providers during examinations and procedures, and help ensure smooth daily clinic operations. You’ll support patient flow, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to a positive, team-based environment focused on compassionate, patient-centered service.

Key Responsibilities

Perform direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision

Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints

Administer medications, injections, and monitor patient responses

Perform EKGs, wound care, and other clinical procedures within scope

Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during exams and minor procedures

Coordinate patient care, referrals, follow-up appointments, and discharge instructions

Manage phone triage and patient communications

Document thoroughly and accurately in EMR/EHR systems

Maintain infection control and safety standards

Execute and support individualized care plans with professionalism and empathy
Collaborative Teamwork
This role involves working closely with our Primary Clinic team to deliver effective, patient-focused services in a supportive and inclusive environment. You’ll partner with providers, medical assistants, and front office staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Qualifications

Current LVN license to practice in California
-
IV certification
-
Minimum 2+ years of clinic/outpatient experience required

Strong knowledge of clinical procedures and patient flow in ambulatory settings

Proficiency in EMR systems
-
Current BLS certification required and maintained
-
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language

Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, coworkers, and community

Experience in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics
