Production Supervisor at Sound Seal Inc – Agawam, Massachusetts

The Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing a team of production workers, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

This position is on-site and will be based out of our Agawam, MA location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers.
• Ensure production schedules are met, and products meet quality standards.
• Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols.
• Train and mentor production staff, providing guidance and support.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports.
• Ensuring that components are available, cut and staged in the proper order to run down the production line in the most efficient manner that meets our customers’ requirements.
• Work to cross-train employees on the line to ensure there are back-ups for employees who are absent or on vacation.
• Conducts safety and quality audits.
• Works closely with the Manager to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
• Meet or exceed budgeted shipment goals.
• Increase productivity and reduce costs to meet or exceed expected margins.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in job field.
• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role.
• Strong leadership and team building/management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of production processes and quality control standards.
• Ability to work in a demanding environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to prioritize and reprioritize production in quick succession.
• Ability to work within a team and communicate to upper management as well as down to shop employees.
• 3+ years minimum leadership responsibilities.
• 3+ years of experience within a manufacturing operation.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing: One-piece continuous flow, elimination of wasteful steps, 5S, & Kanban.
• Computer skills MS suite, mainly excel, word, email
• Experience with ERP/MRP/payroll systems
• Proven time management skills
