Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a tangible difference in people's lives? We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Property Manager to play a pivotal role across our affordable housing portfolio.
In this role, you aren’t just managing paperwork—you are helping individuals and families secure and maintain safe, stable housing. Working closely with our tight-knit team of three Property Managers, you will be the administrative engine and customer service heartbeat of our operations, ensuring compliance with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HOME, PBV) while keeping our communities thriving.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)Tenant Relations & Community Operations- Be the Face of the Community: Greet tenants, handle phone calls, respond to inquiries, and deliver top-tier, empathetic customer service.
- Clear Communication: Draft and distribute tenant notices (lease violations, rent adjustments, inspection schedules, and annual recertifications).
- Financial Teamwork: Partner with our Finance team to track tenant payments, update ledgers, and manage repayment agreements.
- Fill Vacancies: Market available units through approved platforms and community networks.
- Manage the Waitlist: Keep waitlist records organized, screen applicants for eligibility, and coordinate unit offers.
- Smooth Transitions: Support the entire tenant lifecycle, coordinating efficient move-in, interim, and annual recertification, and move-out processes.
- Audit-Ready Files: Maintain meticulously organized digital and physical tenant files in strict compliance with LIHTC, HOME, HUD, and PBV guidelines.
- Gather Documentation: Collaborate with applicants and our Intake/Housing teams to collect necessary financial and qualifying verifications.
- Deadline Management: Keep our compliance pipelines moving smoothly by tracking correction deadlines and prepping files for Management Obligation Reviews (MOR) and audits.
We are looking for a highly organized professional who can balance regulatory precision with genuine human empathy.
Your Must-Haves:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Proven experience working with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HOME, PBV, or Section 8).
- Skills: Incredible attention to detail, strong multitasking skills, and a knack for conflict resolution.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Mobility: Ability to travel between local property locations (sometimes on short notice).
- An Associate’s degree or 2+ years of administrative support experience in property management
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or similar industry certification
- Experience with property management software (such as Yardi, MRI, Boston Post, or RealPage)
- A strong, working knowledge of Fair Housing laws

Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Pay: $25-$27 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday- 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
