As a Payroll Risk & Compliance Expert, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring payroll compliance across multiple jurisdictions while helping shape scalable payroll solutions for a global workforce. Working in a fully remote, cross-functional environment, you will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Customer Experience teams to translate complex regulatory requirements into efficient processes, systems, and products. This role combines deep payroll compliance expertise with strategic thinking, allowing you to influence product development, operational excellence, and market expansion. You will also serve as a trusted advisor on payroll legislation, risk management, and regulatory change while driving continuous improvement through automation and governance. - Serve as the subject matter expert for payroll compliance, interpreting payroll, tax, labor, employment, and social security legislation across assigned regions.
- Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impact, and provide practical guidance to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to translate legal requirements into scalable product features, workflows, and payroll processes.
- Review system logic, payroll calculations, and product functionality to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Support product launches, market expansion initiatives, and strategic business projects by providing payroll compliance expertise.
- Conduct compliance assessments, participate in audits and investigations, identify regulatory risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain compliance documentation, governance frameworks, knowledge resources, and standardized operating procedures.
- Deliver training, mentorship, and regulatory guidance to internal teams while promoting a strong culture of compliance and continuous learning.
- Contribute to automation initiatives and process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and customer experience.
- Extensive experience in payroll compliance, payroll operations, or payroll strategy with strong expertise in payroll legislation and regulatory requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll taxation, labor laws, social security regulations, and employment compliance within assigned jurisdictions.
- Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, or technology teams to implement regulatory requirements into systems and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex legislation and translate it into practical business solutions.
- Experience conducting compliance reviews, audits, investigations, or risk assessments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex compliance topics clearly.

- Annual salary ranging from $156,000 to $210,600 USD, depending on experience, skills, location, and market factors.
