Job Description

Description:

Tate Engineering is seeking a creative, hands-on Digital Content & Social Media Specialist to capture and share the people, projects, expertise, and culture that make Tate unique.

This is not a traditional desk-based marketing position. A significant part of this role involves getting out into the field, visiting job sites and Tate locations, attending company events, working alongside our teams, and capturing authentic content as it happens.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing, this individual will identify content opportunities, capture photos and videos, edit content, and help manage Tate’s social media presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.

The right person is creative, proactive, comfortable working independently, and able to recognize a great content opportunity without always being given a detailed assignment. They understand social media trends and know how to translate them appropriately for a professional B2B brand.

Requirements:

Content Capture & Creation

  • Regularly visit Tate job sites, customer locations, branch offices, company events, training sessions, and other activities to capture photo and video content.
  • Work directly with technicians, account managers, rental teams, leadership, and other employees to uncover stories and content opportunities.
  • Capture authentic behind-the-scenes content showcasing projects, equipment, installations, maintenance activities, emergency response, rentals, employees, and company culture.
  • Conduct informal employee interviews and capture employee perspectives, project stories, educational content, and day-in-the-life features.
  • Create short-form and video-first content including Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn videos, employee features, project highlights, recruiting content, and other social-first formats.
  • Capture and develop longer-form video content for YouTube when appropriate, including project features, educational content, employee stories, service highlights, and company videos.
  • Turn technical or industrial subject matter into approachable, visually engaging content for Tate’s audiences.
  • Repurpose existing photography, video, articles, project information, and other materials into fresh digital content.

Photo & Video Editing

  • Edit photos and video into polished, professional content consistent with Tate’s brand.
  • Take content from initial concept through filming, editing, caption development, and final delivery.
  • Add appropriate graphics, text overlays, captions, audio, transitions, and other elements for social-first video.
  • Edit and format content specifically for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and YouTube based on platform best practices.
  • Create multiple pieces of platform-specific content from a single jobsite visit, event, interview, or filming opportunity when appropriate.
  • Maintain and organize Tate’s digital library of photography and video assets.

Social Media Management

  • Help manage Tate’s day-to-day presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Develop, schedule, and publish social media content in coordination with the Director of Marketing.
  • Write engaging social copy that reflects Tate’s voice and professional B2B brand.
  • Maintain consistent posting and help manage the social content calendar.
  • Assist with uploading and optimizing YouTube videos, including titles, descriptions, thumbnails, playlists, and other channel elements.
  • Monitor engagement and identify opportunities to interact with employees, customers, partners, and industry audiences.
  • Review content performance and use insights to determine which topics, platforms, formats, and creative approaches to use more often.

Trends & Content Strategy

  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, emerging formats, video styles, audio, and content concepts across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Identify trends that can be appropriately adapted for Tate and the B2B industrial market.
  • Proactively bring forward new content ideas rather than relying solely on assigned projects.
  • Help develop recurring content series and creative concepts that make Tate’s social presence recognizable and engaging.
  • Look for opportunities to turn trends into relevant, professional content.
  • Recommend new ways to increase reach, engagement, employee participation, video views, and brand awareness.

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 2–5 years of experience in content creation, social media, digital marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong photography and videography skills with the ability to capture quality content using mobile devices and traditional equipment when appropriate.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and editing short-form video for social media.
  • Strong understanding of LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and YouTube Shorts, including how content and audiences differ across platforms.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar creative tools.
  • Strong visual instincts and an understanding of what makes digital content engaging.
  • Ability to take an idea from concept through capture, editing, and publication.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to develop engaging social media copy.
  • Comfortable approaching and working with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Comfortable working in active industrial, mechanical, and commercial environments while following required safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adjust quickly when content opportunities arise.
  • Ability to balance creativity and current social trends with the professionalism expected of an established B2B organization.

The Right Person for This Role

  • See a technician working on an interesting piece of equipment and immediately think, “There’s a story here.”
  • Notice a TikTok, Reel, YouTube Short, or emerging social trend and start thinking about how it could work for Tate.
  • Are comfortable walking onto a jobsite, talking with employees, asking questions, and figuring out what would make compelling content.
  • Can receive broad direction and independently develop the concept, capture the content, edit it, and bring back a finished product.
  • Understand how to take one great content opportunity and turn it into multiple pieces of content across different platforms.
  • Would rather spend part of your week capturing real work in the field than spend every day behind a desk.
  • Understand that great B2B content doesn't have to feel overly corporate.

Work Structure

This is a part-time position averaging approximately 8–16 hours per week, with hours varying based on projects, events, and content opportunities.

The role will include a combination of remote editing/content development and in-person work at Tate locations, job sites, customer facilities, events, and other locations throughout Tate’s operating territory.

Because some of the best content opportunities happen in real time, flexibility and the ability to occasionally adjust schedules around job sites, projects, and company events are important.

This position will work closely with and report to the Director of Marketing.
