Paraprofessional Technician

Our Paraprofessional Technicians work collaboratively to deliver life-changing applied behavior analytic (ABA) services for pediatric patients diagnosed with developmental disabilities, pediatric feeding disorders, or other complex behavioral needs. Working directly under the guidance of our professional behavior analysts (BCBAs) and licensed psychologists, our technicians assist with vital patient assessments and hands-on clinical program implementation. A Typical Day:

• Clinical Therapy Execution: Conducting dedicated therapy sessions with patients using standard ABA procedures under the direct guidance of a BCBA.
• Program Implementation: Assisting with the development and deployment of crucial skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction programs.
• Data & Optimization: Organizing, maintaining, and entering treatment data into spreadsheets to accurately graph and report progress.
• Caregiver Partnership: Assisting in the training of parents, school personnel, and caregivers to ensure treatment continuity.
• Clinical Collaboration: Preparing initial drafts of session materials, progress notes, and reporting behavioral observations in measurable terms.
• Auxiliary Support: Assisting with clinical research activities and maintaining the overall organization and cleanliness of department materials.

To Be Considered:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. (A Bachelor's degree in child development, psychology, or a related field is a plus!)
• Certifications: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience: Preference is given to individuals with prior experience working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities or pediatric feeding disorders in an educational, instructional, or therapeutic setting.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to move, lift, and carry patients and objects
• Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients may involve independently lifting of up to fifty pounds, as well as assisting with weights of more than one hundred pounds
• Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
• This position requires frequent movement, use of limbs, and good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
• This position may also require extended periods of standing or sitting
