Are you looking for a meaningful role where your sharp eyes and quick thinking save lives? As a Safety Monitor Technician, you are the ultimate guardian of our most vulnerable patients. You will serve as the crucial line of defense against falls, injuries, and elopements. By continuously tracking patient activity, you will empower our care team to step in before an accident happens.

Your Impact

  • Be the Eyes of the Unit: Provide continuous, vigilant surveillance for patients in our special care unit.
  • Sound the Alarm: Alert nursing staff instantly when a patient shows signs of distress or movement.
  • Protect the Vulnerable: Keep watch over patients facing unique challenges, including those who are:
    • Overcoming confusion or cognitive impairment
    • At risk for self-harm or suicidal behavior
    • Navigating an unsteady gait or high fall risk
    • Demonstrating impulsive behaviors
    • Staying under an administrative hold
    • Pediatric patients requiring extra protection outside secure zones
  • Collaborate for Care: Partner closely with nurses, doctors, and families to maintain an elite standard of patient safety.
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.22 - $23.92
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prefer completion of an accredited Unit Technician school for Monitor Technician.
Experience:
  • Prefer one (1) year of previous Central Surveillance and Unit Coordinator experience.
Specialized Training:
  • Must successfully pass a Basic EKG course.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology and be proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
