Role:
American Soy Products (ASP), part of Morgan Foods, Inc., is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support aseptic manufacturing operations at our Saline, MI facility. This full-time, on-site role reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for maintaining facility utilities, infrastructure, and equipment that support manufacturing operations.
The Facilities Engineer supports operational reliability, facility improvements, equipment uptime, and maintenance team development while partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and outside vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Safety Champion by ensuring employees, contractors, and facility systems operate safely and in compliance with company standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Plan, coordinate, and document maintenance activities related to facility systems and utilities.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance materials.
- Lead facility and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Ensure facility systems remain compliant with OSHA, food safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, preventive maintenance procedures, and equipment documentation.
- Coordinate maintenance training activities within assigned areas.
- Maintain technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance records.
- Conduct daily facility walkthroughs and collaborate with Supervisors and Leads regarding operational issues and corrective actions.
- Review downtime and maintenance performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead troubleshooting and repair activities utilizing internal and external resources.
- Partner with outside vendors and equipment manufacturers to improve facility operations.
- Support budgeting, purchasing, and maintenance cost tracking activities.
- Communicate effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and leadership teams regarding facility priorities and operational needs.
- Supervise facility maintenance personnel, including scheduling, assigning work, coaching, and performance management responsibilities.
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement activities supporting food safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently walk, stand, climb, bend, and work throughout manufacturing and utility areas. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and work around moving equipment and industrial utility systems.
Environmental Requirements:
Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments. Manufacturing areas are not climate controlled and may include exposure to varying temperatures, odors, dust, noise, oil, slippery floors, and moving equipment.
Communication Requirements:
Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs, technical documentation, safety procedures, and operational instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, contractors, vendors, and leadership.

Education / Training / Skills / Experience / Personal Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Facilities Management
- Related technical field
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience within:
- Manufacturing or industrial environments
- Facility operations and maintenance
- Building systems management
- Capital improvement or project management environments
- Strong understanding of:
- HVAC systems
- Electrical distribution systems
- Plumbing and compressed air systems
- Preventive maintenance programs
- Building automation systems
- OSHA and safety regulations
- Energy management practices
- Experience with Maximo or similar maintenance systems preferred.
- SAP experience related to purchasing, inventory, and budget tracking preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing within a team environment.
