OVERVIEW: The Pro Football Hall of Fame Summer Internship Program provides a meaningful and educational hands-on experience in a variety of disciplines. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s success and gain real-world experience throughout the summer leading up to the annual Enshrinement Week. In addition to departmental work, all interns participate in weekly OTAs — organized team activities — which include engagement with industry experts, networking opportunities, professional skill development and team-building activities.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM POSITIONS: There are 11 internship positions available across 10 departments. Please submit only one application, even if you are interested in multiple positions. This application is specifically for the Operations department internship.

TERM & HOURS: The program runs June 1, 2027, through Aug. 9, 2027. All interns will work five (5) full days per week (approximately 40 hours), including nights, weekends and extended hours leading up to and during Enshrinement Week.

COMPENSATION & HOUSING: $5,000 stipend will be paid throughout the duration of the internship; local housing options will be available through Walsh University, just a few miles down the road from Pro Football Hall of Fame.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of professional football, sports business and nonprofits preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quick to adapt, flexible and able to work well under deadline pressure.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, professionalism.
  • Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States and international students must have all visas and employment authorizations before the start of the internship.

OPERATIONS INTERNSHIP: The Operations intern will gain hands-on experience in game operations, event logistics and facilities support, including event management, organization, leadership and real-time recordkeeping. The Operations Team supports all departments and covers a wide range of events, including all Enshrinement Week events and Fan Fest. The pace is fast and priorities shift often, so the ideal candidate is flexible and willing to step in wherever help is needed. The goal is a practical understanding of operations and skills the intern can use after the internship program.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the parking pass program by updating and ordering parking passes and gathering and fulfilling employee parking pass requests.
  • Cover Enshrinement Week Fan Fest logistics, including pre-event planning, daily site checks and post-event closeout.
  • Coordinate Enshrinement Week Fan Fest load-in and load-out, vendor needs and on-site operations.
  • Work in the Control Center on event-day management for Enshrinement and the Concert for Legends, covering security, guest services, on-field operations and stadium facility issues.
  • The intern can be expected to take on other special projects within any department.

Additional qualifications:

  • Majoring in sports management or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and project management tools is preferred; proficiency with Excel is required.
  • Flexible schedule based on the overall event schedule.
