Position Summary

To assess symptoms and provide out-patient counseling services for the Aultman Health Foundation employees (clients), if needed, to meet their psychosocial needs.

Department Summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate of approved school with a master's degree in counseJing or related field and licensure as a counselor, LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW required.
  • Experience in providing evidence-based treatment, including short tcnn therapy.
  • Valid licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • One year of experience in an out-patient treatment setting.
  • Refined written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of managed care concepts in relation to financial aspects of client care.
  • Must be able to cope with the emotional and mental stress of the position and deadlines imposed on specific duties.
  • Refined organizational skills with a well-developed style of diplomacy, assertiveness, and a tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Able to use critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities and an understanding of systems and change process.
  • Able to function independently, with autonomy, displaying personal integrity and always maintaining confidentiality.
  • Able to work with all levels of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Refined negotiating skills and the ability to deal with conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to delegate tasks.
  • Functions in the role as client/family advocate, intervening as needs indicate.
  • Dresses in professional manner.

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Facilitate individual intake psychotherapy as needed for all the AHF entities.
  • Assist employees/clients and psychiatrist with appropriate community planning and follow up treatment.
  • Coordinate referrals to clinically appropriate levels of care.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and other mental health care providers as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the United Way Prosperity Center resource to ensure referral to appropriate community agencies.
  • Discuss and review individualized care plans with patients and treatment team.
  • Be an active and participating member of the treatment team.
  • Act as an advocate for all employees as appropriate.
  • Create and foster a work environment that is consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of the Aultman Health Foundation.
  • Supports strategic organizational goals creating a unique component of an employee assistance program.
  • Facilitate crisis de-escalation to employees when needed and appropriate.
  • Abide by the Aultman Code of Conduct and confidentiality of all information at all times.
  • The completion of all annual requirements is mandatory every year.

Working Conditions

  • Works 8 to 10 hours per day, adjusting hours to meet the customer's needs.
  • Must maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Must adhere to Aultman Health Foundation policies and procedures.
  • Must fulfill position description requirements.
  • ls subject to frequent intenuptions during perfonnance of duties.
  • Must be able to travel to various location sites for employee meeting times or providing clinical services.
  • Must be able to utilize computers/ word processing.
