Oyster Harbour Seniors Community in Ladysmith, BC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse for the Assistant Director of Care (ADOC) position to help execute and support clinical care delivery, manage staff, audits, follow-ups and clinic flow and inspire a culture of excellence, compassion, and accountability.

About the Role
Reporting to the Site Leader/Director of Care, the Assistant Director of Care is responsible for the overall planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of clinical programs and services to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality resident care.
As a core member of the leadership team, the ADOC contributes to strategic planning, operational decision-making, and continuous improvement, while serving as the clinical expert and champion of best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Alignment
- Provide strong, values-based leadership aligned with Park Place’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of site strategic plans and priorities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders to optimize overall site operations and outcomes
- Ensure clinical care meets professional, regulatory, and licensing standards
- Monitor care delivery and evaluate outcomes to support continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Champion a culture of clinical excellence and accountability
- Oversee the delivery of resident-centred care programs within an interdisciplinary model
- Ensure effective care planning, documentation, and communication systems are maintained
- Establish processes that promote high-quality, consistent care practices
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to nursing and care teams
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment focused on resident wellbeing
- Liaise with physicians, pharmacists, and other health professionals to support coordinated care
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current registration in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory body
- Progressive leadership experience in long-term care or seniors living
- Strong knowledge of clinical practice standards, quality improvement, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills
Work Schedule
- Part-time leadership role
- Participation in a rotational on-call schedule is required
