Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Clinic Nurse to support patient care and the daily operations of our clinic. Reporting directly to the Clinic Manager, with a dotted line to the healthcare professional, you will provide nursing care, assist with clinical procedures, and help maintain a safe, welcoming and efficient environment for patients.
What you will be doing:
Reporting directly to the Clinic Manager [CM] with a dotted line to the healthcare professional, responsibilities generally include, but are not limited to the following:
Nursing:
• Placing patients in exam rooms
• Patient triage, new patient assessments • Using electronic medical records
• General measurements (BP, height, weight, spo2, temperature).
• Venipuncture
• Dressings
• Suture removal
• Injections
• Acting as chaperone for doctors when required
• Assisting with PAP tests, vaginal swabs
• 12 lead ECG and PFT (Spirometry)
• Urinalysis
• Occupational Health Services – Corporate clients
• Regular training for clinical emergencies e.g. basic life support, anaphylaxis, acute asthma, epileptic fits
• Check the emergency medicine cabinet routinely to ensure it is ready for use when emergency occurs
• Allergy testing including Penicillin and food challenge
• Prepare the patch and the Allergy materials to be ready on time for use
• Book and confirm referrals and follow ups for specialists
• Process doctors’ orders and tasks in a timely manner
• Ensuring sterilization of equipment
• Maintaining temperature control records for vaccine fridge
• Monitoring hygiene in the practice
• Adhere to all Health & Safety Regulations
• Adhere to all Public Health regulations
Administration:
• Assisting with new patient records
• Monitoring the clinic's computerized health care targets and working towards achieving them
• Maintaining clinic medical supplies and ensuring each exam room is properly stocked
• Patient call backs and referrals
• Enforce online booking and self check in
• Assisting with general office administration work including telephone answering, retrieving patients’ messages, faxing, and processing faxes and document triage
• Organizing supplies
• Scanning, maintaining computer records.
• Attend and make contributions at clinic meetings and training sessions
