About This Position
Salary Schedule: Commensurate with education and experience according to Salary Schedule E.
In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, Adult Education Director, Assistant Dean of Instruction, Dean of Instruction, Dean of Students, the President, and Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, responsibilities will include the following:
- Provides a welcoming, encouraging, and respectful office atmosphere,
- Works as an effective member of the team to ensure the success of all students,
- Collates files and/or prepares documents and reports,
- Collects and enters data for reports,
- Maintains documents and reports,
- Audits reports for accuracy,
- Performs receptionist duties,
- Orders office supplies and instructional materials,
- Operates office machines,
- Opens, sorts, prepares, sends and distributes mail,
- Assists in the security and maintenance of test materials,
- Follows established methods and procedures,
- Assists in preparing student folders and maintaining records of student progress,
- Assists in proctoring and scoring diagnostic tests,
- Enters data, understands and uses the AAESAP data system,
- Assists with the Adult Education orientation,
- Develops brochures, flyers, and newsletters to increase public awareness of Adult Education,
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Adult Education Director, Assistant Dean of Instruction, Dean of Instruction, Dean of Students, or the President.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate Degree in Office Administration or related field,
- A thorough knowledge of records management, and office procedures,
- Good oral and written communications skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- An understanding of and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the Alabama Community College System,
- Knowledge of the Alabama Adult Education System of Accountability and Performance (AAESAP),
- Experience working in an Adult Education Program.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and financial operations
