šŸŽÆ About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Central Sterile Supply Manager to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you’ll plan, organize and supervise Central Supply (CS) Staff and provide resources for daily operations of Central Sterile. Responsible for overseeing the CS Department, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide customer service to all departments supported by CS.

šŸ” What You’ll Do

  • Staffing: Schedules staff to provide optimal coverage. Adjusts staffing for all areas (Main CS, SSC, GI) based on clinical volume and instrumentation needs. Provides direct leadership to CS staff setting daily priorities. Delegates assignments consistent with role, scope of service and abilities of recipient
  • Communication: Communicates with clinical departments, colleagues, providers and management in an accurate, considerate and timely manner. Provides inter and intra departmental critical information regarding supplies, instrumentation and details for daily clinical schedules. Leadership Assists the Director in the achievement of department goals and objective. Applies leadership skills consistent with role and experience. Actively participates and promotes others to seek certification. Provides a leadership role by maintaining a safe and positive work environment; establishes and maintains positive and effective work relationships with the leadership team, colleagues and providers. Manages conflict in capable, effective manner. Assists with hiring. Ensures staff competency and provides oversight at off-site locations as needed. Assists employee performance through coaching and corrective action as needed. Assists with Kronos and performance evaluations.
  • Daily Operations: Reviews daily assignments with staff. Communicates with Director, the need for over-time usage and schedule adjustments that assure adequate staffing/skill mix. Attends morning and afternoon huddles. Ensures effective flow of products and sterile instruments to all clinical departments. Manages equipment and instruments to ensure they are functioning properly and replace as needed.
  • Quality Improvement and Compliance: Participates in Quality Improvement activities pertinent to central sterile. Develops and maintains policies, procedures and/or guidelines to meet department objectives. Maintains clean and orderly environment of care. Assures compliance with OSHA, JCAHO requirements. Documents all records related to sterilization in a complete, accurate and timely manner to ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Time Management: Manages own work and material resources effectively. Prioritizes needs and tasks effectively. Positively adapts to changes in assignment based on departmental needs,

šŸ“‹ What You Bring

  • High school graduate or GED required
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
  • Central Processing Certification required.

    • Achieve Central Processing Supervisor certification within 2 years of hire date

      Knowledge and familiarity with AAMI and AORN standards.

  • Minimum of 3 years in central processing required

  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of computer inventory systems preferred
