About This Position
Milli Group is building one of the UK’s most exciting queer-led entertainment ecosystems. From The Queer Comedy Club—Britain’s first permanent LGBTQ+ comedy venue—to our bar and performance space Betty & Joan’s, plus a growing slate of club nights, cabarets, live shows, and community events, we’re creating spaces where queer people can live, laugh, dance, and feel fully themselves.
We’re now looking for an Events & Programming Manager to join our team and help steer the next stage of our growth and this role could potentially be part time or full time.
About the Role
This is a senior creative and operational role working across The Queer Comedy Club and Betty & Joan’s, responsible for developing, programming, and delivering a dynamic calendar of events.
You’ll lead on:
Our internally produced events (club nights, drag shows, themed parties, cabaret, special one-offs).
Managing and supporting external promoters and producers using our spaces.
Developing our daytime hires, including workshops, corporate bookings, rehearsals, community groups, and unique daytime activations.
Creatively shaping and expanding our in-house club night offering.
This is a role for someone with strong instincts for queer culture, nightlife trends, community engagement, and event economics - and a genuine excitement for building something special.
What You’ll Do
Lead on programming across both venues, ensuring a balanced, exciting, commercially effective rota.
Develop, launch, and manage new club nights, ensuring they feel fresh, well-produced, and distinctively “Milli Group”.
Work closely with external producers and promoters to support their events and ensure smooth delivery.
Manage the full event lifecycle: ideation, booking, scheduling, budgeting, advancing, and on-the-night support where needed.
Build daytime usage: identify opportunities, liaise with hirers, manage logistics, and promote our unique spaces as a daytime destination.
Collaborate with marketing to ensure events are well positioned, promoted, and aligned with brand strategy.
Develop relationships with performers, DJs, drag artists, agents, and the wider queer creative community.
Monitor performance of events, analyse sales and attendance, and adjust programming accordingly.
Uphold and champion Milli Group’s values of queer representation, community, safety, and inclusivity.
Who You Are
You have experience in events, programming, nightlife, entertainment, or venue management.
You’re passionate about club culture and excited to develop new club nights from scratch.
You know the LGBTQ+ scene and understand queer audiences, tastes, and cultural nuances.
You’re highly organised, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
You’re commercially minded and confident balancing creativity with revenue goals.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being hands-on.
You’re comfortable supervising events, supporting promoters, and solving problems on the fly.
You’re collaborative, values-led, and committed to making our venues feel safe, inclusive, and joyful.
Why Work With Us
Be part of a rapidly growing queer-led entertainment group.
Work across two unique London venues with strong community roots.
