This role offers the opportunity to help organizations maximize the value of their Workday investment by delivering expert payroll solutions and post-production support.
You will work closely with clients and internal teams to analyze business needs, configure solutions, and improve payroll processes.
The position combines technical expertise, consulting skills, and client relationship management in a remote-first environment.
You will contribute to successful Workday implementations, enhancements, and ongoing optimization initiatives.
The role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, business processes, and Workday best practices.

Accountabilities:

The Workday Payroll Senior Consultant will be responsible for delivering high-quality consulting services, supporting clients through Workday Payroll optimization, configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong ownership, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent client satisfaction.

  • Configure, test, and implement business requirements within Workday Payroll modules.
  • Lead client discussions to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Support post-production environments by troubleshooting configuration, data, reporting, calculated fields, security, and business logic issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement system enhancements aligned with client objectives.
  • Guide clients through testing activities, knowledge transfer sessions, documentation, and best practices.
  • Apply consulting methodologies and adapt solutions to meet evolving client needs.
  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables while ensuring timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations are met.
  • Provide insights on Workday best practices, lessons learned, and recommended approaches to optimize platform usage.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives through documentation, training, and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Support and mentor team members by sharing expertise in Workday Payroll solutions.
  • Monitor performance indicators and contribute to achieving service excellence and client satisfaction goals.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong Workday Payroll expertise, consulting experience, and the ability to operate independently in a remote and client-focused environment. They should combine technical knowledge with communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering impactful solutions.

  • 3+ years of experience leading Workday implementations, Workday post-production support, AMS services, or working as a Workday client.
  • Strong experience configuring Workday Payroll, Security, Custom Reports, Dashboards, and Calculated Fields.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes, Workday functionality, and enterprise system optimization.
  • Experience gathering requirements, facilitating workshops, presenting solutions, and creating technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence interacting with clients and remote teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong client service mindset with proven relationship-building abilities.
  • Curiosity and initiative to continuously develop expertise across Workday solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams and work independently.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally (less than 5% annually).
