The Sr. Director, Compensation will be responsible for defining, implementing, and evolving global compensation strategies that support business growth, talent objectives, and long-term organizational success. This role requires strong leadership, analytical expertise, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Define and continuously evolve the global compensation philosophy and strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, growth objectives, market practices, pay equity principles, and cost considerations.
- Own and enhance job architecture strategies, including leveling frameworks, job families, career structures, and compensation consistency across global teams.
- Lead complex compensation initiatives from strategy development through execution, ensuring strong ownership of timelines, quality, and measurable outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Engineering, Product, Sales, and corporate functions on compensation decisions, market trends, hiring offers, promotions, retention strategies, and organizational changes.
- Partner with compensation operations leadership to develop scalable processes, frameworks, tools, and systems that improve compensation decision-making globally.
- Conduct market benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure compensation programs remain attractive and aligned with evolving talent markets.
- Collaborate with Finance on compensation planning, forecasting, and equity management, while partnering with HR systems and analytics teams to improve reporting and insights.
- Work closely with Recruiting teams to support competitive hiring strategies and effective compensation positioning.
- Lead, coach, and develop a global team of compensation professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Champion inclusive compensation practices and contribute to a culture focused on transparency, growth, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is an experienced compensation executive with a strong background in designing global compensation programs, leading teams, and influencing senior business stakeholders. They should bring strategic thinking, analytical capability, and a proven ability to operate effectively in complex, high-growth environments.
- 8+ years of experience in compensation, with deep expertise in broad-based compensation strategy and program design.
- Experience managing global compensation programs with knowledge of international market practices and regulatory considerations.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing compensation teams.
- Strong track record of influencing senior executives and driving high-impact compensation initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Experience partnering with Finance, HR technology, People Analytics, and Recruiting teams to improve compensation models, tools, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of market benchmarking, pay structures, equity practices, and compensation trends within technology or similar industries.
- Ability to build alignment and trust across teams through strong communication, collaboration, and influence.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
- Strong leadership skills with a commitment to developing inclusive, high-performing teams.
- Competitive annual base salary range of $193,200–$345,000 USD.
