CrankyApe.com is hiring for a Scheduling Coordinator to join our transportation team. This position is responsible for coordinating the transportation of various vehicles, recreational equipment, and powersports from pickup locations throughout the U.S. to one of our warehouses.

The Scheduling Coordinator manages the transportation process from the time a unit is ready for pickup through its arrival at the warehouse. This includes gathering accurate information about each unit and its pickup requirements, selecting and scheduling transportation providers, monitoring shipments, troubleshooting transportation issues, and processing transporter payments.

Essential Functions:

  • Qualify units for transportation by gathering information about the unit’s condition, size, operability, accessibility, and pickup requirements. This includes identifying any special circumstances or equipment needed for a successful pickup.
  • Review transportation options and assign loads to transportation providers based on quoted cost, availability, pickup date, and other transportation requirements.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery details with transportation providers and remote warehouse managers using online transportation load boards and other systems.
  • Monitor shipments from pickup through arrival at the warehouse to ensure units are transported in a timely manner and remain on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot transportation issues by communicating with transporters, warehouse managers, and other internal teams to resolve delays, pickup problems, delivery issues, and other unexpected situations.
  • Track and document transportation-related fees and expenses owed to the pickup location or transporter. Identify fees that are due, record amounts owed, and coordinate payments as appropriate.
  • Process transporter payments through the appropriate online transportation load board after the unit has been successfully delivered.
  • Maintain accurate transportation records and update shipment information as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and administrative tasks as assigned or requested.
Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Willingness to learn. Prior transportation experience is not required; we will provide training.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate ffectively with transportation providers, warehouse managers, and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to make timely decisions and respond with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable with extensive phone use throughout the workday.
  • Team-oriented with a customer-service mindset and a willingness to work collaboratively with others.

Hours of Operation:

  • Full-time
  • Monday through Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Occasional overtime as needed
